Botanic Gardens Visitor Centre

With over 300,000 visitors a year this award winning visitor centre opened  in 2014 including a café, permanent exhibition, visitor information and retail. Lynda was part of the client team for the centre and project managed the exhibition development.

Ellesmere Heritage Park concept

Expert knowledge exchange – open air museums

As part of the expert knowledge exchange, Lynda worked with staff and volunteers to develop a strategic, long term visitor experience vision and park layout ( Ellesmere Heritage Park), wayfinding hierarchy (Ferrymead Heritage Park) and exhibition concept ( Westland Industrial Heritage Park).

Central city cultural interpretation – panels and tohu whenua

Lynda facilitated a team including a Ngāi Tahu cultural designer and a heritage planner to develop and implement an interpretation strategy for tcentral Christchurch through 40 interpretation panels and 6 tohu whenua / cultural markers.

Tour development – Pompellier Mission & School of Mines

Lynda worked with customer facing staff who run tours at these heritage attractions. At Pompellier the focus was on consolidating and improving skills of experienced guides; at School of Mines the focus was development of a new tour concept.

Travis Wetland interpretation pavilion

The upgraded interpretation pavilion highlights the 20 year work of volunteers and staff to rehabilitate this urban wetland. Lynda managed both the initial project and the upgrade including audio and interactives exhibits.

Macetown historic interpretation

Lynda researched and developed a trail following a composite fictional character based on the true history of this remote goldmining town. The trail included a series of interpretation panels and a field guide.

Lynda developed and designed interpretation at track entrances and in hut interpretation.

Shaanxi Wild Animal Rescue Centre Pavilion

Lynda provided International expert advice on a visitor centre for wild and rescued animals in the Qinling Mountains, China. This involved review of and advice on concepts and detailed designs, translation and editing for English speakers.
